Johnson City Prayer Breakfast
About JCPB
The Johnson City Prayer Breakfast (JCPB) is an annual breakfast that unites the community in prayer, worship, and fellowship, all in the name of Jesus. The mission of the breakfast is to provide a welcoming environment where individuals from all around the city and all denominations can come together to seek God’s guidance over our community, to grow in faith, and to support one another.
History
Our annual Johnson City Prayer Breakfast began in 2022 in order to bring the vision of the National Prayer Breakfast to a local level and to pray together for our community. Founded in 1953, when President Dwight Eisenhower accepted the invitation to join Members of Congress to break bread together, the annual National Prayer Breakfast (NPB) is an opportunity for Members of Congress to pray collectively for our nation, the President of the United States, and other national and international leaders in the spirit of love and reconciliation as Jesus of Nazareth taught 2,000 years ago.
The JCPB Committee
The annual JCPB is organized by the JCPB Committee, made up of members from all around the Johnson City community and various denominations, united by a shared commitment to glorify God through prayer and service. We are an unbiased, diverse group of individuals who seek to promote spiritual growth and mutual respect, ensuring that our gatherings reflect the love and grace of Jesus. We aim to honor God in all of our efforts, fostering a spirit of unity, love, and service that reflects His purpose for our lives.
